Ryan and Elizabeth’s client was charged with Obstructing Legal Process. Ryan and Elizabeth filed a motion to dismiss and the prosecutor threatened adding a Disorderly Conduct charge. A few days prior to the contested hearing, Ryan and Elizabeth sent the prosecutor a letter laying out the facts of the case and the case law on the offense. The prosecutor agreed that the client’s conduct did not arise to the level of obstructing legal process and agreed to continue the case for dismissal. This means that upon payment of a fine and in 6 months without any similar offenses, the case will be completely dismissed.
