Our client pled guilty to Aiding and Assisting in the Preparation of a False Individual Income Tax Return and Ryan and Elizabeth wrote a Sentencing Position Paper arguing that the Judge should not impose the two year prison incarceration term as set forth in the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. The United States Attorney’s Office opposed Ryan’s argument.
Based on the argument, the incredible story of our client’s life, and other factors, the Judge granted the motion and sentence our client to probation with no executed federal prison time. Our client walked out the door to his wife and children rather than to the custody of the United States Marshall’s Service.
