Mr. Garry was hired by Colin Kaepernick and the Know Your Right’s Foundation regarding the protests associated with the murder of George Floyd (Star Tribune Article). Mr. Kaepernick paid the legal fees to defend a large number of peaceful protestors who were assembling to exercise their First Amendment right to free speech and protest. On July 20, 2020, Mr. Garry sent letters to the prosecuting attorneys charging the cases demanding that charges be dismissed as they violate the United States and Minnesota Constitutions. Today we learned that the prosecution against our Third Protest client, (M.H.), was dismissed in its entirety. Complete victory.
