After a contested omnibus hearing in which Ryan cross-examined the arresting officer, a Ramsey County judge dismissed all charges because the traffic stop was illegal. Ryan’s client, although perhaps not morally innocent, benefited from Ryan’s cross-examination and was exonerated.
