Ryan and Elizabeth’s client’s next door neighbor, the petitioner, obtained a harassment restraining order (HRO) against him. After talking with other neighbors, the client’s house’s former resident, and obtaining police records regarding the petitioner, Ryan and Elizabeth filed a motion to dismiss the HRO. On the eve of the evidentiary hearing where Ryan would have called their neighbors to testify that the client had done nothing wrong, the petitioner dismissed the HRO.
